ALAN HENRY Water lightly stained; 55–64 degrees; 13.3’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat–L–Traps, jigs, shallow running crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

AMISTAD Water stained; 69–73 degrees; 36.98’ low. Black bass are good on blue/black and red/black spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and striper jigs. White bass are fair on white spinnerbaits, jigging spoons, and minnows. Catfish are good on liver and cheesebait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

ARROWHEAD Water off color; 54–63 degrees; 15.83’ low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on live minnows. White bass are fair on live shiners and Little George’s. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

ATHENS Water clear, 62–66 degrees; 2.71’ low. Black bass are slow on shallow crankbaits and bladed jigs. Crappie are fair on minnow and white jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines.

BASTROP Water clear; 72–76 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastics and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on liver and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON Water murky; 69–73 degrees; 10.32’ low. Black bass are fair on black/blue spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on hot dogs and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. See Possession and Transport.

BOB SANDLIN Water clear; 64–68 degrees; 6.49’ low. Black bass are fair on Flukes and small swimbaits. Some fish being caught on black/blue jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on minnows. Catfish are good on cut shad.

BONHAM Water stained, 63–67 degrees; 2.58’ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Rat–L–Traps, jigs, soft plastic jerkbaits and topwaters. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs along the main creek channel. Catfish are excellent on prepared bait.

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and soft plastic worms. Striped bass are good on green striper jigs and shad. Redfish are fair on shad, shrimp, and silver spoons. Channel catfish are good on shrimp, liver, and nightcrawlers. Blue catfish are slow.

BRIDGEPORT Water clear, 62–66 degrees; 20.36’ low. Black bass are fair on Xcite XB–1 squarebills in reverse sexy shad near main lake points. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs and minnows. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. See Possession and Transport.

BROWNWOOD Water stained; 68–72 degrees; 9.51’ low. Black bass are good on Bass Hogg spinnerbaits, craw colored jigs, and craw colored crankbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies, minnows, and shad colored crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies and tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on liver and doughbait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN Water stained; 69–73 degrees; 31.91’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, Skip–N–Pop topwaters, and Texas rigged weightless silver flake Whacky Sticks at daylight. Striped bass are fair casting and jigging Spoiler Shads and Rat–L–Traps along the river channel, and drifting or free lining live bait. White bass are fair on Tiny Traps and 2” plastic swim baits along the river channel. Crappie are fair on pink/white or chartreuse Curb’s crappie jigs and live minnows. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp, minnows, and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CADDO Water stained; 65–69 degrees; 0.60’ high. Black bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps and crankbaits. White and yellow bass are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and nightcrawlers. Special regulations are in effect for boaters and anglers on this lake. See Possession and Transport.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water murky; 68–72 degrees; 7.30’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse Rat–L–Traps and white spinnerbaits in 6–15 feet, and on Texas rigged grape Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs along main lake bluffs. Striped bass are fair jigging blade baits and trolling deep running crankbaits over and around humps at first light. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on Smokin’ Green” Devil’s Tongues on drop shots and pumpkin Curb’s jigs with matching drop shot worms along ledges and over rock piles in 10–20 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs upriver. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CEDAR CREEK Water clear; 63–67 degrees; 5.65’ low. Black bass are fair on squarebill crankbaits. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Crappie are good on jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines and nightcrawlers.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 72–76 degrees; 22.38’ low. Black bass are good on tequila sunrise soft plastics in 15–25 feet. White bass are fair on Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLEMAN Water clear; 67–71 degrees; 15.25’ low. Black bass are good on black/blue soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are good on blue tube jigs and live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK Water clear; 74 degrees at hot water discharge; 4.16’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits in 6–8 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch in 8–10 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO CITY 20.05’ low. No report available.

CONROE Water lightly stained; 68–72 degrees; 2.04’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and crankbaits in 15–30 feet. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are fair on liver and shrimp.

COOPER Water clear; 69–73 degrees; 13.35’ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on chartreuse jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines.

FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FALCON Water murky; 73–77 degrees; 27.62’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse/black soft plastics and Brush Hogs in 8–20 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on shrimp, cut bait, and stinkbait up the river. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

FAYETTE Water stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon and tequila sunrise soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

FORK Water clear; 62–66 degrees; 5.70’ low. Black bass are slow on black/blue flipping jigs and weightless soft plastics. Creek channel swings near deeper water are best. Yellow bass and white bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows near the bridges. Catfish are slow on trotlines and prepared bait.

FT. PHANTOM HILL Water clear; 55–63 degrees; 12.18’ low. Black bass are fair on Carolina rigs, jigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over structure. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse Rat–L–Traps, crankbaits and soft plastic worms. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are fair on doughbait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.

GRANBURY Water stained; 68–72 degrees; 8.67’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait.

GRANGER Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 1.04’ high. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shad and Zote soap in 3–15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

GRAPEVINE Water clear; 61–66 degrees; 9.56’ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and small swimbaits along main lake points. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.

GREENBELT 41.43’ low. No report available.

HOUSTON COUNTY Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 1.54’ low. Black bass to 8 pounds are very good on square bills and black/blue jigs in 2–6 feet. Crappie are fair on live minnows around brush in 20 feet. Bream are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are good on juglines baited with shad and perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

HUBBARD CREEK Water off color; 55–62 degrees; 21.85’ low. Black bass are fair to good on shallow running pearl crankbaits, Texas rigs, shakyheads and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around deep water structure. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

JOE POOL Water clear; 63–67 degrees; 1.74’ low. Black bass are slow on crankbaits and plastic jerkbaits near grass. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are slow on trotlines and rod and reel.

LAKE O’ THE PINES Water lightly stained; 63–68 degrees; 1.80’ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Rat–L–Traps and shallow crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows.
