ALAN HENRY Water stained; 75–83 degrees; 17.55’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to Carolina rigs and jigs. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs over brush piles. Catfish are good on chartreuse (use Worm–Glo) nightcrawlers.

AMISTAD Water stained; 82–86 degrees; 42.00’ low. Black bass are good on Senkos, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on shad and watermelon topwaters. White bass are fair on chartreuse topwaters and spinnerbaits. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and frozen shrimp over baited holes. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

ARROWHEAD Water off color; 75–83 degrees; 18.49’ low. One ramp open and few anglers have been on the lake.

ATHENS Water clear; 81–84 degrees; 0.40’ low. Black bass are good on shakyheads with green pumpkin finesse worms on docks and topwater walking type baits along edges of grass. Crappie are good on white. Catfish are fair on rod and reel and trotline.

BASTROP Water stained; 83–87 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon seed crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on frozen shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON Water murky; 80–84 degrees; 8.92’ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on hot dogs. Yellow catfish are slow.

BOB SANDLIN Water clear; 80–84 degrees; 1.13’ low. Black bass are good on Carolina rigged soft plastics on brush piles. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on topwaters. Catfish are good on trotlines and juglines with live bait.

BONHAM Water stained, 81–85 degrees; 2.78’ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, jigs and soft plastics near shallow flats with grass, boat docks, ridges, creek channels and rocky points up to 12’ deep. Crappie are excellent on jigs and minnows on offshore brush piles up to 25’. Catfish are excellent along the rocks with stinkbait, chicken liver and cut shad.

BRAUNIG Water stained. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on liver and shad off points. Redfish are fair downrigging near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are good on shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam. Blue catfish are fair on cut bait.

BRIDGEPORT Water clear, 80–83 degrees; 22.45’ low. Black bass are good on small soft plastic swimbaits on jigheads fished near rocky points on main lake. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.

BROWNWOOD Water stained; 82–86 degrees; 12.03’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon red spinnerbaits and soft plastics in 12–15 feet. Hybrid striper are fair trolling or drifting shad at night. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies in 10–18 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with cut bait and chicken livers. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with cut bait and chicken livers.

BUCHANAN Water murky; 81–85 degrees; 28.60’ low. Black bass are fair on flukes, buzzbaits, Chug Bugs, and Texas rigged 5” watermelon candy Whacky Sticks in 4–10 feet at first light. Striped bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps, Rattlin’ Rogues, and plastic swim baits. White bass are fair on Tiny Traps and plastic swim baits in creeks. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are good on liver, minnows, and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on goldfish and perch upriver.

CADDO Water stained; 80–84 degrees; 0.40’ high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits and black buzzbaits. White and yellow bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.

CALAVERAS Water stained. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are good on chicken livers and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are good down rigging silver and gold spoons and live bait near the dam in 10–20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on liver, cheesebait, shrimp, and shad near the railroad trestle and 181 cove. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 9.46’ low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, watermelon candy flukes, and Whacky Sticks along grassy banks early. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on JDC grubs, Gambler Crickets, and white crankbaits in 10–21 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and Curb’s jigs in standing timber. Channel catfish are fair on live bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on goldfish and perch upriver.

CEDAR CREEK Water clear; 81–84 degrees; 3.90’ low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged craws in green pumpkin and weightless Senkos. White bass are good on topwaters. Hybrid striper are fair on topwaters and slabs. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and prepared bait.

CHOKE CANYON Water stained; 81–85 degrees; 25.80’ low. Black bass are fair on small white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, watermelon crankbaits, and pumpkin Whacky Sticks with chartreuse tails along main lake points. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are good on live bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live bait upriver.

COLEMAN Water clear; 80–84 degrees; 17.46’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon red soft plastic worms and lizards. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK Water stained; 88 degrees in main lake, 100 degrees at hot water discharge; 2.24’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and spinnerbaits over grass beds in 6–10 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch in 10–14 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO CITY  21.63’ low. No report available.

CONROE Water stained; 81–85 degrees; 0.03’ high. Black bass are fair on chartreuse and watermelon Carolina rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and shrimp.

COOPER Water clear; 82–86 degrees; 8.61’ low. Black bass are slow on drop shot finesse worms and deep crankbaits. Crappie are slow on minnows and chartreuse jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FALCON Water murky; 83–87 degrees; 30.61’ low. Black bass are good on Brush Hogs and shallow running crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

FAYETTE Water stained. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps early and late. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows and shad over baited holes.

FORK Water clear; 81–85 degrees; 3.90’ low. Black bass are slow on football jigs and drop shot worms in 15–20’. Some topwater action noted early. White and yellow bass are fair on slabs. Crappie are slow on minnows on brush piles and bridges. Catfish are slow on trotlines and chicken liver.

FT. PHANTOM HILL Water clear; 74–82 degrees; 14.85’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Zell Pops, Texas rigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastic worms and watermelon/white crankbaits. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers, shrimp, and cut bait.

GRANBURY Water murky; 81–85 degrees; 5.58’ low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed soft plastics and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and frozen shrimp.

GRANGER Water clear; 83–87 degrees; 0.89’ high. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastics and spinnerbaits upriver around timber. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on watermelon jigs in 4–15 feet. Blue catfish are fair on juglines baited with shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

GRAPEVINE Water clear; 80–85 degrees; 9.83’ low. Black bass are good on shallow crankbaits and topwaters. Some fish being caught in flooded cover. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs and small crankbaits. Catfish are slow on trotlines.

HOUSTON COUNTY Water clear; 86–90 degrees; 0.09’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red topwaters and soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Bream are good on live worms around grass beds. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

HUBBARD CREEK Water off color; 75–84 degrees; 27.23’ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, midmorning switching to Texas rigs, crankbaits and jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs over deep cover. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.

JOE POOL Water clear; 81–84 degrees; 1.00’ low. Black bass are fair on medium crankbaits in shad patterns. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and topwaters. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

LAKE O’ THE PINES Water lightly stained; 80–83; degrees; 1.75’ high. Black bass are good on buzzbaits and Texas rig creature baits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.
