Two Gander Mountain stores in the Houston area have received a complete remodel and will feature more firearm selection and buying opportunities.

The new format stores will feature Firearms Super Centers, offering both new and used guns, according to a news release.

Customers also will be able to order firearms and have access to all of Gander Mountain’s merchandise by using online order kiosks with easy delivery and pick-up at their local Gander Mountain store.

“It’s exciting to bring our great selection of merchandise, a sharp new look and improved shopping experience to so many of our Gander Mountain stores,” said David Pratt, Gander Mountain president and CEO, in the release. “Our new Firearms Super Centers have been very well-received across the country, and we look forward to bringing that concept to many more stores in our network. Through these major remodeling projects, we’re giving our loyal patrons and our newest fans an even better place to get the best gear at the best prices.”

The pair of stores are located in Spring (19302 Interstate 45) and Houston (19820 Hempstead Rd.). The stores are among 29 in the United States that received or will receive remodels this year.

A similar project was completed last year at the Gander Mountain in Sugar Land.

Four new stores in Texas were announced recently for Lewisville, Round Rock, San Antonio and Mesquite.

Those stores are as follows:

  • Lewisville will see a new Gander Mountain store in a 45,000-square-foot space at 723 Hebron Parkway, just off I-35E at Exit 448A, in the Lakepointe Towne Crossing Shopping Center.
  • Mesquite will be home to the first Gander Mountain Firearms Super Center in Texas, located in a 31,000-square-foot space at 3775 Childress Avenue, just off the LBJ Freeway at Exit 7A.
  • Round Rock will see a new Gander Mountain store in a 49,000-square-foot space at 3021 S. I-35, in the Round Rock Crossing Shopping Center.
  • San Antonio will see a new Gander Mountain store in a 49,000-square-foot space at 8203 State Highway 151, just off I-410 at Exit 9A, in the Westover Marketplace Shopping Center.

Gander Mountain officials expect as many as 350 jobs to be created in Texas as a result of the previous expansion. The stores will be added to others that include sites in Amarillo, Beaumont, College Station, Corsicana, Houston, Lubbock, Sherman, Spring, Sugar Land, Texarkana and Tyler.

The Spring location is home to the first Gander Mountain Academy in Texas, where customers can experience the ultimate in firearms training.
