Greg Rodriguez, 43, host of ‘A Rifleman’s Journal,’ renowned hunter, shot to death

Gregory C. Rodriguez, 43, of Sugar Land, host of the Sportsman Channel show “A Rifleman’s Journal” and a renowned hunter and outfitter, was shot and killed Thursday night in Montana, according to a report from the Billings Gazette.

Wayne Bengston, 41, killed Rodriguez while the Texan was visiting the shooter’s wife at a Whitefish residence, police said. He then beat and pistol-whipped his wife before fleeing the residence with the couple’s 2-year-old son.

Bengston later shot and killed himself.

Rodriguez is the founder and CEO of Global Adventure Outfitters. He also has been recognized as an award-winning outdoor writer and marksmanship instructor who has hunted 21 countries and taken 140 species of big game, according to the show’s website.
