Austin Canoe and Kayak to open location in San Antonio this fall

Austin Canoe and Kayak has announced plans to open a location in northwest San Antonio, its fifth store in Texas.

ACK San Antonio will be located at 12770 Cimarron Path, just off Interstate 10, south of the 1604 Loop. The 5,000 square-foot store will provide name brand merchandise from companies including Hobie, Wilderness Systems and Yeti Coolers. In addition to a broad selection of kayaks, standup paddle boards, camping and other outdoor gear, ACK San Antonio will offer kayak and standup paddle board rental,s as well as installation and repair services.

“Our San Marcos location has been a success thanks to the support of many of our loyal customers from the San Antonio and southeast coastal regions,” said Chris Hackerd, vice president of store operations, in a news release. “We are excited to finally open a store that is a little closer to home for them while also expanding our reach farther south, closer to the coastal cities.”

ACK operates stores in Austin, San Marcos, Spring and Houston. The ACK location in San Antonio is slated to open its doors  in early November. Similar to its sister stores, ACK San Antonio also will house space dedicated for Rack Boys, providing an assortment of vehicle racks, trailers and accessories and installation services.
